Meet the Founder

Mother Goose Cottage was founded by Cait Gorges, a Brighton resident and mother of three, whose background in leadership and early childhood development has shaped the vision for this space. Cait holds a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley (Cum Laude), with a minor in Early Childhood Development. She is currently applying to Master’s programs in Early Childhood Education as she continues to deepen her formal training in teaching, child development, and pedagogy.

Early in her career, Cait worked in early childhood settings including Haste Street Child Development Center in Berkeley and Studio Grow play space, where she developed a deep respect for intentional, play-based environments. She is also a Girl Scout troop leader (GSWNY), PTSA Chair at Council Rock Primary School, and a longtime volunteer and community organizer for children’s programming. After fifteen years in technology and sales leadership — most recently serving as VP of Sales at BlueConic and leading the Advertiser division at Permutive — Cait felt increasingly drawn back to the work that first inspired her: early childhood education and community-building. Mother Goose Cottage is the result of that calling.

As a mother of three young children, Cait believes early childhood spaces should feel warm, human, and grounded in connection. She lives in Brighton with her family (and their French Bulldog, Waffles), and can usually be found baking in her kitchen, crafting in her studio, or driving a very large SUV to a school event with coffee in hand.

Mother Goose Cottage is designed to honor childhood, support caregivers, and allow children to grow and play at their own pace.
